Edge Computing is transforming the way data is being handled, processed, and delivered by millions of devices around the world. As modern IT infrastructure evolves to support new technologies like IoT, 5G, AI, ML, and Augmented Reality, Lenovo's "Smart Edge" products will serve as a foundational layer allowing customers to realize their full potential.

This WW Smart Edge Product Segment Leader is a new position on a newly created Smart Edge product team.  This individual should possess the strong ability to identify new and emerging technology advances and demonstrate the ability to execute on a strategic plan to intercept market adoption.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Work directly with internal and external partners to understand their new technology roadmaps and develop plans to intercept the appropriate technologies within Lenovo’s portfolio
  • Leverage market requirements, product contract, and positioning to guide respective products through Lenovo’s product development process, from business case through business commit
  • Own the overall product positioning, product training and transition to the product management team for life cycle management
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by relationship building with current and prospective customers
  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working across multiple Lenovo departments
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Demand planning

Position Requirements:

  • 7+ years of Product Management experience, with recent focus on IoT or Edge computing Industrial and/or Embedded PC experience is a plus
  • Previous success working in a global, multi-cultural and matrixed environment with strong virtual team and extensive cross-group coordination/collaboration
  • Exceptional internal and external client focus
  • Superlative verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to quickly build relationships across teams and geographies, communicating up to the executive level
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to quick grasp new technologies
  • Ability to work independently, navigating potentially ambiguous situations with strong critical thinking and decision making
  • 4 year degree- ideally in a business or technical discipline
    Preferred Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in product management for Industrial and/or Embedded PC
  • Prior experience with Enterprise Portfolio Planning tools
