Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintain good stakeholder communication primarily with customers, local technical and marketing teams, and R&D teams.
  • Identify and implement best Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including Waterfall models, V-shaped models, and Agile models to ensure deliverables are achieved as scheduled and are communicated across teams including Tracfone stakeholders, Tracfone vendors, and Samsung development teams for each model.
  • Track and execute multiple project schedules, milestones and deliverables simultaneously, for executing wireless products via carrier approval process from pre-lab entry to technical acceptance/approval.
  • Work closely with software, hardware, UX (User Experience), product management, and quality assurance teams, and use creativity to find solutions to technical and logistic issues.
  • Regularly communicate the project status and key issues to management.
  • Identify critical and urgent issues correctly and make corrective action items and/or recommendations to management and issue owners in timely manner.
  • Use technical engineering knowledge and experience to understand customer applications, test cases, and requirements. Help drive the project approval process for assigned carrier from FLD (Future Lockdown) to TA (Technical Acceptance).
  • Ensure all testing is completed (either leveraged from parent device or new), programmatic and technical issues are resolved, and hardware and software deliverables.
  • Address and drive to resolution all post-launch market issues reported by their carrier and internal parties.
  • Work with post-launch team to resolve technical issues.
  • Resolve technical issues reported by the carrier during the device certification process.
  • Report issues in PLM, work with carrier test engineers to replicate failures and collect appropriate data and logs for analysis by subject matter experts.
  • Relay issue status to carriers and negotiate scope and timeline to provide fixes.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation requiring technical and telecom engineering in the mobile phone/tablet industry.
  • Will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 7 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation requiring technical and telecom engineering in the mobile phone/tablet industry, or any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Experience must include:
    1. Five years of experience working with customers in wireless products in the technology industry.
    2. Five years of experience in embedded consumer products.
    3. Five years of experience in wireless carrier certification.
    4. Five years of experience in Android handset development.
    5. Five years of experience in program/project management of hardware and software products.
    6. Five years of experience developing and maintaining technical skills, including proactive, customer-service oriented relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company.
    7. Five years of experience planning and organizing multiple engineering support assignments and projects as directed by management or other departmental officers.
    8. Five years of experience reading, interpreting, and acting on high-level understanding of technical documents, engineering test manuals and related documents based on corporate engineering standards and philosophy.
    9. Five years of experience testing and evaluating new wireless products, including the verification of product features by simulation and reproduction of errors and complaints of wireless products.
    10. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment to achieve personal and team goals within established time frames.
    11. Demonstrated ability to read, analyze and interpret technical requirements and procedures.
    12. Demonstrated ability to communicate in writing, through email and reports, orally complex technical matters to an audience that may include less technically-oriented listeners.
