Wifi MAC Embedded Firmware Engineer

Job Description:

We are a dynamic strong team that works on upper and lower MAC layer firmware and drivers for Broadcom’s WiFi access points and routers. Among us we have expects in real time firmware, MAC protocols, systems performance, queuing theory, control algorithms, and device drivers.

We are seeking an Embedded Firmware/Software Engineer to support development of 802.11ax features on Broadcom’s custom ASICs, with emphasis on MAC layer and associated data and control paths. Focus is on the design and implementation of advanced 11ax features in either upper or lower MAC, integration with existing data/control paths and verification/debug. The successful candidate will have:

• strong background on embedded real time firmware, RTOS and bare-metal implementations
• solid understanding of computer architectures, hardware interfaces such as DMA, PCIE, UART etc.
• experience with inter-processor communication protocols and architectures
• excellent knowledge of embedded C
• experience with scripting languages like Python
• strong analytical and communication skills
• prior hands on experience on WiFi or cellular/LTE related embedded firmware is a big plus
• MS+5 years work experience or PhD in EECS
