The Micron Embedded Business Unit (EBU) seeks a VP of Marketing, directly reporting to the CVP and GM of the Embedded Business Unit. EBU develops memory and storage solutions for Automotive, Industrial Multi-Market (IMM) and Consumer segments. As the #1 supplier of Automotive memory solutions and a global leader in the Industrial Multi-Markets (IMM), EBU provides leading products and solutions based upon DRAM, NAND and NOR Flash technologies including both components and system solutions such as DRAM modules, eMMC, UFS, SSD and uSD cards. Business and sales are developed both directly with customers as well as through industrial and commercial distributors globally. Current annual revenues of approximately $3B.
In this role, the Marketing VP will lead a team of approximately 60 marketing professionals and technical marketing engineers, distributed across various Micron locations including Folsom, Boise and San Jose in the US as well as several locations in Europe and Asia. They will establish strong relationships and collaborate with key partners within technology and product development, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, Micron branding and field sales organizations within Micron as well as with customers and ecosystem partners in the industry in order to achieve results.
Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with EBU Corporate VP and GM to profitably manage the overall PnL to exceed strategic targets.
- Define and ensure delivery of best in class DRAM, NAND and NOR based product roadmaps and differentiated solutions to achieve strategic targets in Automotive, Industrial and Consumer verticals.
- Drive increasingly valuable customer and distribution channel partner relationships and business development in partnership with Micron Sales.
- Develop and drive partnerships, strategies and support with Ecosystem partners to enable future business success metrics.
- Define marketing strategies and channels to drive demand creation, effectively handling supply, demand and inventory.
- Establish effective financial and business analyses and processes to justify and prioritize next generation product introductions.
- Develop and deliver pricing strategies and execution aligned with business objectives and defined metrics.
- Develop and carry out overall EBU marketing strategy, plans and communications including product launches and collateral, field training, digital marketing, outbound messages, tradeshow presence, PR and Micron brand alignment.
- Oversee marketing budgeting process and spends, including monthly forecasting and reporting on spend and return on investment.
- Work with analytics, decision science, and business operations to ensure optimal return on investment for marketing investments and campaigns.
- Effectively and equitably lead and empower diverse team members and partners to exceed challenging goals while investing in their development to improve their capabilities and enable career growth.
Education & Ideal Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field as well as an advanced education in business administration.
- The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of progressive, marketing leadership and industry experience.
- Extensive experience in semiconductor business with direct experience in memory and storage solutions.
- Strong experience in launching products with knowledge of key global market, customers and supply chains associated with Automotive, Industrial and Consumer vertical segments.
- Outstanding digital marketing skills and ability to effectively reach ecosystem partners, direct customers and broad market customers through distributor managed channels.
- Deep understanding of Automotive, Industrial and Consumer Electronics industry including technology trends, application and system requirements driving market and innovation opportunities related to memory and storage business.
- Delivers compelling and clear messages with press and media.
- Track record of leadership success in developing, driving and inspiring teams with outstanding problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate between multiple teams across the organization
