Staff Engineer, Software & Systems (ADAS)

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, document and test ADAS, computer vision (CV), and related algorithms and image/radar processing pipelines in an embedded real-time environment to illustrate the optimal use of Renesas devices, technology and IP
• Work with the team to integrate designs to form a complete embedded ADAS and/or radar solution reference design, including debugging and optimization
• Create and present technical training material related to Renesas devices, Renesas peripherals, and the efficient utilization of Renesas technology for ADAS, CV and radar processing applications
• Create documentation, such as Design Documentation, Application Notes, Quick Start Guides and User Manuals
• Provide expertise and (Level 2) technical support to customers, partners and internal organizations
• Implement demos for use at industry trade shows and other events to illustrate Renesas technology capability
• Interface with customers and partners to understand future automotive ADAS / radar / CV trends and requirements, and utilize the gained knowledge to:
  • Define and document the systems architectures and system specifications for new ADAS / radar / CV features
  • Participate and represent the team in discussions with internal marketing and silicon design teams to define future Renesas products
  • Prepare technical responses to customer RFI’s/RFQ’s, including proposing solutions based on Renesas technology to fulfill the customer’s requirements
• Enhance and support software engineering and development processes
• Propose and review architecture and design decisions and guidelines

Requirements:

• BSc degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• 8+ years of professional experience, to include at least 5 years’ experience in the embedded software area, and at least 3 years’ experience specifically with ADAS, radar processing and/or CV applications
• Expertise in embedded C programming and debugging
• Proficiency with Python, C/C++ programming and Matlab
• Working knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems, BSP development, middleware integration skills for embedded MCUs and MPUs
• Excellent reading skills for complete understanding of technical documents
• Hands-on system bring-up, testing, and debugging skills
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other standard lab equipment
• Experience with software engineering processes and tools like JIRA
• Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Can-do attitude with unwavering sense of urgency
