What we need:

This is an opportunity to join Renesas’s Mobility, Infrastructure and IoT Power Business Division in Austin, TX, working on validation software for mixed signal power IC’s.

We are seeking a self-driven, detail-oriented, Senior Staff Validation Software Engineer to lead the development of a continuous integration software framework for automated IC validation.  This will involve the creation of automation software, drivers for various lab measurement instruments, and database tools for data storage and visualization. You will interface with silicon design, verification, test and applications engineers all of which are on-site in our Austin facility.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of software development experience.  BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills
  • Experience interfacing with commonly-used lab equipment in an automated test environment
  • Experience programming in a mixed Linux/Windows environment using commonly-used open-source tools
  • Experience with software development tools such as Git/Gerrit, JIRA, and Jenkins
  • Ability to write high-quality code that is maintainable and extendable
  • Ability to rapidly learn new programming languages and technologies
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-starter, energetic, responsible, driven and eager to learn

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Fluency in the Python programming language and common Python libraries
  • Knowledge of Relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with data visualization software tools
  • Familiarity with commonly used semiconductor design tools and the semiconductor design process
  • Experience with the embedded firmware design process and debug tools
