AI embedded SW technical leader

The Intel Movidius Team have been at the forefront of designing and delivering solutions for exciting new machine vision and Edge AI markets and have delivered the successful Myriad Vision Processing Unit (VPU) processors and Neural Compute Stick Programs. We continue to work on innovative Deep Learning and Computer Vision SoC designs resulting in exciting opportunities for  software technical leaders.

As a manager, you will set priorities for the team, get results across boundaries, ensure an inclusive work environment, develop employees, and manage performance. The candidates in this role will formally manage or technically direct teams of up to 10 people.

You will direct the activities of data science, machine learning, natural language processing, and/or computer vision engineering group in the research and/or development of technology relevant to an organization's future products, projects, and programs. Collaborating with others on the direction of basic research and development relevant to long-term objectives and concerns. Helping to develop strategies to ensure effective achievement of business group objectives.

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate qualification in engineering, computer science, or another numerate discipline.
• 10+ Years of industry experience on embedded systems or high availability systems
• Highly developed communications skills, verbal, written and ability to use KPI to set goals and communicate with senior management
• Strong knowledge of RTOS, close to hardware programming essential
• Ability to get into the code and make contributions in C or C++ - certainly to review code and lead teams in debugging activity
• Formal leadership experience as a line manager a distinct advantage
• Informal technical leadership experience is essential.
• Experience in a large multinational multi-site development environment is essential
• Experience with Agile, SCRUM / Jira, CI/CD Jenkins a significant advantage
• Experience with formal SW development processes and methods a distinct advantage
• A demonstrated track record of successful delivery of software process improvement a distinct advantage
• Demonstrated track record of leading teams to success in complex systems projects
• Experience with AI/CNN a distinct advantage

Post-COVID the role will require occasional short term international travel.
