Description

Renesas is looking for a high-profile ADAS embedded systems Engineer for our Automotive Solution Business Unit based in Duesseldorf.

You will develop embedded bring-up software (proof-of-concept), define and review PCB board designs for automotive R-CAR devices. You will define and write requirements for the next-generation ADAS products that comprise evaluation boards, starter kits, tools, soft- and hardware. You will write embedded software for enabling the users to bring the device to life. You will support the software and tool teams with your expertise in hardware and software knowledge.

The Job

  • Support all Board-related topics (e.g. design, documentation)
  • Selecting Components
  • Working closely with PCB Layout (CAD)
  • Devices bring-up, debug and power consumption analysis
  • Define and write requirements on hardware related topics (e.g. initial program loader, boot up)
  • Support automotive customers with Renesas R-CAR hardware, tool or software issues

Your Profile

  • An academic degree in Computer Science, Electronics or similar
  • Review specifications and schematics for high complexity boards
  • Support CAD designers on complicated layout and routing by review and consulting
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping hardware/electronics and software projects ;
  • Bring up and debugging of new boards and complex devices
  • Familiarity with signal integrity and power integrity concepts
  • Electronics design from schematics to PCB design/assembly; Experience designing for manufacturability
  • Solid understanding of embedded systems, microcontroller architectures and communication interfaces
  • Design/Development of embedded devices and firmware (preferably ARM-based)
  • Relevant experience in embedded software development with C/C++ (Bare metal and OS)
  • Work independently in an international team with internal stakeholders
  • Team player having good communication skills, i.e. very good English in speech and writing
  • Valid work permit for Germany

If interested, you can extend your knowledge to one of the following fields:

  • Working knowledge of ARMv8 architectures especially R-CAR V3x products
  • Knowledge in Requirements engineering
  • Knowledge of Linux OS and RTOS such as FreeRTOS, QNX, Integrity
  • Proficiency in automotive SW development processes and standards like MISRA and ISO26262
  • German language
